LOTTA KATRINE MEYER
Design
I am a Fashion Designer (B.A.) with a foundation built in Hamburg and refined in the ateliers of New York and Paris. After seven years of designing my own label, NUSUM—which focused on a clean, Scandinavian aesthetic for both women and men—my practice has evolved into a more intimate and intentional exploration of clothing.
Today, I bridge the gap between high-end design and sustainability by creating bespoke "Green Carpet" pieces for actresses and unique bridal wear, alongside developing prototype concepts like the utopian streetwear of Weaving Landscapes and the upcycling initiative XPLR.
My commitment to sustainability is rooted in the belief that knowledge is the key to change; by understanding the true cost of fast fashion and the intricacies of construction, we learn to value what we wear. This philosophy extends to my private wardrobe consultations, where I help clients restyle their existing closets to foster a long-lasting, sustainable wardrobe experience. For my commercial Styling work, I invite you to visit the styling section of this website.
This journey has recently led me back to the loom. By returning to the roots of fashion through weaving, I am able to explore textiles from their very core, using this ancient craft to slow down the process and rethink our relationship with fabric. This exploration results in both high-quality cloth and woven illustrations, which bridge the gap between my design and art practice and can be viewed further on my illustration page.
